Go Rebels!!!

We love our Rebels! These pics are from the last home game against Vandy. We didn't win the game, but we sure had fun anyway! And, after beating Florida last weekend - we have a renewed faith in the team! Next weekend against South Carolina will be lots of fun!!!
Pop Pop bought Bryce a football for the Grove. He had so much fun throwing and chasing the ball!!! And, Bryce taught Pop Pop how to impress cheerleaders - just do a little dance and shake it!
Bryce and his Daddy - the only way to tell them apart is that Danny is taller.
Cute family!
Best hugger ever!!!

Boys Night In

I had a cooking class at church last night, so Danny and Bryce stayed home and played. Danny was lounging - alone - on the couch when I got home. He looked exhausted. I went to check on my sweet baby boy in bed - his head was all wet with sweat. Turns out that the boys had quite a night - they went out in the back yard and Bryce tried to find some locusts that were making lots of noise, they built a fort to crawl underneath, and Bryce ate a pizza all by himself!!! This morning at breakfast, Danny came through the kitchen on his way to work and gave Bryce a "pound". These two boys are so cute! I don't which one is more proud of himself. I would say they both have fun when Mommy goes out!
I also picked up some great recipes at my cooking class. So, if anyone wants to know how to make dinner that is quick and easy - I will email you a copy of the recipes. I brought home leftover samples of what we cooked and they are all gone already!
This picture is of Bryce watching tv wearing my shoes. He loves to try to put on my and Danny's shoes - he hasn't quite figured out how to maneuver the size 12s yet. :)

****** Special congrats to Cara Gober - who just passed the Alabama Bar exam! I knew you could do it!!!! Yeah, Cara!!!

Abs and Buns

In an attempt to get myself a butt, I decided to attend abs and buns class today. Lets just say that I am going to be sore for a while. I sweated like a pig - but it actually felt pretty good. Now that you have that visual, I am seeking ideas for a gift. Danny's birthday is Sunday - and I need some ideas. Since Danny reads this blog, please send any suggestions to my email: jprestage55 at hotmail.com. Since Danny already has one of everything, I am looking for some creative ideas. Thanks for any help you can provide! By the way, anyone Groving this weekend? We are planning on being there - if the weather cooperates - so please come by our tent. We are sure to have lots of chicken tenders and capri suns!!!

The Grove

Football Season at Ole Miss is the best! We went to the Grove this weekend and Bryce had a big time - he played football in the Grove, drank lots of juice and even hugged some pretty girls!Kristi, Tim and Liz came to town, too, so we went out to dinner on Friday night to plan for the tent on Saturday. Jon told us about this authentic Mexican restaurant (in the building that used to be Dino's). The owner is the guy who used to own El Charro. And, once we all got together and started talking, we realized that we were old. Not so much in years, but we are old because we say things like: "when we were in college" - "that neighborhood has really gone downhill since we lived there" - and - "we used to go to the Gin when we were in school here". Things sure have changed. They didn't even offer us a table outside where all the students sit to eat. I guess our need for a kid's menu and a high chair gave us away.

I did not actually play football, I just held it.

What a great family!!!
Ellen is a freshman at Ole Miss. She is Danny's cousin - can you see the family resemblence?
Bryce did not sit still until his GG came to save him.
Clapping his hands. No, the band was not playing. Bryce was just happy.
FOOTBALL!!!!!!
Liz and Bryce played all day! Thank goodness she was there to help us!

Liz, Bryce and Danny - trying to stay cool with a quick drink.
So tired... and hot!

The place that used to be Dino's - Kristi was teaching them about driving a race car.
Bryce is trying to order a drink from Julio.
We set up by the reserved band area - so Bryce had a lot of running room.
On the Grove Stage. So many great performances here - but Bryce is my favorite!

Wednesday morning

This morning we started our new music class at the Link Center. However, I totally forgot to take any pictures during class - so you will just have to imagine how precious Bryce was sitting in my lap and clapping his hands, laughing and playing a big drum. He loves music!

In order to get this hairstyle, get the icing from your toaster strudel and smear it in your hair. Then, lick your fingers to clean up the mess!
Lucy likes to watch Bryce eat. I can't imagine what goes on in her head. Probably "doh-de dooh".
Bryce likes to check his email every morning.
He picked me one of the remaining purple flowers. Wonder why there are so few???
Going on a walk...
Playing with the neighbors' puppies. Yes, there are still 4 puppies! They are getting so big! These pups came from large litters - 15 pups and 2 moms. They were so cute... After music class, we went to lunch with some friends. Bryce and Averi were being so sweet! He thinks she is pretty!
Not sure which girl helped Bryce back up - but I am pretty sure that he was ok.
Nap time! He was so glad to get some rest!!!

Bryce's First Day of School

Breakfast of Champions: Banana and Blueberry Muffin

Bryce is checking out the toys...
He just realized that I was leaving - he is so cute when he loves his mommy!
MMMMMM.... Goldfish. Maybe this won't be so bad after all!

Bryce got a happy face on his first day of school. I am so proud of him! Mrs. Sherri and Mrs. Martha are so good! I think we are going to get the hang of this school thing. :)

Evacuation traffic

Last weekend our family gathered in Hattiesburg for my grandfather's funeral. Grandpa George had been sick for over a month. He had west nile virus, acute renal failure, and possibly a stroke. Needless to say, our family has been very sad this past month. After the funeral Saturday, we packed up early Sunday morning to get ahead of the traffic that was evacuating the coast - Hurricane Gustav was coming. What should have taken a little more than an hour on I-59 took us 2 1/2 hours. As we sat in traffic, I started to get more emotional than I expected. I looked at all of the Louisiana tags - loaded down with trailors, dogs, food, kids... These people had their most precious possessions in their vehicles. Danny and I wondered what we would put in our car if we had evacuate. I know I already had the two most precious things with me - Danny and Bryce. What else would I pack? Hard to say. All I know is that last weekend was tough. Now that I have settled back in to life as usual in Tupelo, we are busy as ever. Bryce started school two days a week. Danny is swamped with tedious lawyer stuff. And, I can't seem to get out from under that pile of laundry that keeps getting taller.

Southbound Traffic

Car pulled over for a break

Slow moving...

Yes, the car was on. No, we were not moving.

Mother's Morning Out

Bryce started day school today. It was not nearly the emotional upset that I expected - for me or him. I am actually surprised at how fast the morning has passed by - it is almost time to go pick him up from school. Wow! I have a little boy in school. Yesterday (literally, yesterday) he started walking around saying, "Mommy". This morning I packed his lunch and took him to school. I am so lucky to have such a sweet family. Pics of his first day of school to follow soon!

Danny - this is for you...

Washing dishes when pregnant

Lucy trying to fit in Squirt's bed... she has no idea how big she is.
Remember when Bryce was little? This was his first hat.
